Cromie Fondle Tape 14

by cromie

Cromie’s involvement in the LA local/global underground house and techno scene dates back a half-decade or so, when Cromie first started picking up gigs at local party institutions such as A Club Called Called Rhonda. His name got out there in earnest in 2013 with his debut 12″ alongside Sage Caswell, which featured a remix from none other than Kyle MF Hall. Since then, Cromie has released a couple more solo records, most recently on Urulu’s Amadeus Records in late 2015, picking up support for US underground favorites and top Ibiza players alike. Cromie’s original tracks and collaborations have also popped up on labels such as LA’s 100% Silk and Friends of Friends as well as UK-based Freerange Records (alongside Mexican producer Soul of Hex). Cromie has kept active locally with dj sets at many of LA’s reputable underground house and techno party series, and has also had opportunities to take his style international with gigs in Germany, Croatia, Mexico and more. Also a part of the (currently hibernating) States of Being crew, Cromie was responsible for the LA debuts of cherished artists such as the Pender Street Steppers, Kassem Mosse, and Prosumer.

With his Fondle tape, Cromie digs deep into his crates, drawing a meandering line between beats, styles and tempos, evincing his deep love for charismatic, memorable productions. The A side features a diverse blend of styles, while the B side takes the listener through well-considered blends of light and fun house tracks in his signature style.
